Richards Construction Company, Inc. takes great pride in performing every task to completion in a safe and efficient manner. Our employees understand the importance of safe work practices, completing a safety course at least once every year. Our desire is do the best job possible, leaving a good impression once the job is completed.

Richards Construction Company, Inc. has been in business since 2000. We specialize in all sorts of excavation, commercial and residential. We also do site utility work. It has been our privilege to do the excavation and site utility work on many of the QuikTrip Convenience stores in our area. Most of our proposals are submitted as a “package” which would include any site excavation and the site utilities. This enables us to submit very competitive bids and also helps reduce congestion at the job site.

Dave Richards, owner [Email Dave]

Dave has been in the construction industry for most of his life. Dave’s dad owned a construction company for more than 35 years, until his death in 2001. Dave was a part of that company until branching off on his own in 1993 and then going into business for himself in January 2000. Dave is well known throughout the industry for being a man of his word who takes great pride in his work. He expects that same attitude to be evident throughout the entire company. Dave has taught his sons well and though he is very involved in the day to day operations, he is enjoying watching his sons run the company together

Ben Richards [Email Ben]

Ben has been involved in the construction industry his entire life. Ben loved going to work with his dad, Dave, from a very young age. Ben went to work for the KC Southern Railway System in 2005 as a track laborer, quickly moving up through the ranks, running all sorts of machinery, eventually becoming a tamper operator, at which he became very proficient.

When Richards Construction began growing rapidly, Ben left the KC Southern to go back to his roots and work for his dad. Ben loves working out in the field, but now he finds himself spending more time in the office bidding most of our projects.

Wes Richards [Email Wes]

Wes has also been involved in the construction industry his entire life. Wes spent a lot of time with his dad and brothers at his grandpa’s shop, often accompanying him to job sites. Wes attended Missouri State University, coming back to KC to work for his dad. When Richards Construction was actively working as a railroad contractor, Wes spent a great deal of his time in southern Missouri/northern Arkansas running the various track maintenance projects in that particular district. More often than not, Wes is doing many different things throughout the course of any given day, from running many different pieces of heavy equipment to

overseeing the work on job sites. Several years ago, Wes saw a real need for dumpsters being readily available on many of our job sites, so he put forth the effort to launch Richards Roll-Off Services, LLC from the ground up.

Joe Richards [Email Joe]

Joe is the youngest son and can’t even imagine life without some sort of construction project going on around him. Since Joe is the youngest, he didn’t get to spend as much time as his brothers on his grandpa’s job sites, but he’s more than made up for it since working for Richards Construction. Joe enjoys working with people and is well known for working hard while at the same time, having some fun. He runs every piece of excavation equipment quite well however Joe is an excellent mechanic so he spends most of his time keeping our trucks running and supervising all activity in our shop.supervising all activity in our shop
